”Faith you have, believe you do”
innehåller 12 färska, egna låtar där han sjunger om sin tro och det han tror på. På skivan spelar Johnny Hatton bas (Brian Setzer Orchestra, Elvis Presley, Bob Dylan, Dolly Parton…). Rodger Carter (John 5, Gene Simmons, Rick Springfield, Lita Ford…) spelar trummor. Mikko Rintanen spelar keyboards och Elna Romberg sjunger stämmor. Janne Hyöty spelar inte bara gitarr utan han är även mixat och mastrat skivan. Ett gäng som bor långt ifrån varandra men med dagens teknik har de fått ihop det utan att någon behövt resa någonstans.
Pontus själv beskriver musiken som ”Rock’n Rollabilly”- Det är väl egentligen en blandning av rock and roll och rockabilly. Då blir det ju ”Rock and Rollabilly”. Jag har inte hört att någon skulle använt den termen tidigare så jag tänkte passa på, säger Pontus
Detta är nu den tredje skivan med rockabilly stil som Pontus ger ut. Första skivan ”Rockabilly Redneck” kom 2017 och 2024 kom ”Rockabilly Hymns”. Nu kommer ”Faith you have, believe you do”.
Pontus, who grew up with The Boppers and Stray Cats, took a detour into a bit harder rock for several years. He toured with members from Lynyrd Skynyrd, Status Quo, Whitesnake and Molly Hatchet to name a few. His life was coming to an early end due to his alcohol and drug abuse, but he met someone who could do what seemed to be impossible.
The new album is called “Faith you have, believe you do” and contains 12 fresh, original songs where he sings about his faith and what he believes in. On the album, Johnny Hatton plays bass (Brian Setzer Orchestra, Elvis Presley, Bob Dylan, Dolly Parton…). Rodger Carter (John 5, Gene Simmons, Rick Springfield, Lita Ford…) plays drums. Mikko Rintanen plays keyboards and Elna Romberg sings background vocals. Janne Hyöty not only plays guitar but he has also mixed and mastered the album. A bunch of people who live far from each other but with today’s technology they have managed to put it together without anyone having to travel anywhere.
Pontus himself describes the music as “Rock’n Rollabilly”- It’s actually a mix of rock and roll and rockabilly. Then it becomes “Rock and Rollabilly”. I haven’t heard anyone use that expression before so I thought I’d take the opportunity, says Pontus
This is now the third album with a rockabilly style that Pontus has released. The first album “Rockabilly Redneck” came out in 2017 and in 2024 came “Rockabilly Hymns”. Now comes ”Faith you have, believe you dor”.
